Pronouns: She/Her/Hers (why use pronouns?)

Maica is a Pinay educator-scholar born in the Philippines and raised in the Bay Area. She received a B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Race and Resistance Studies from San Francisco State University. Having recently completed her M.A. in Educational Equity and Social Justice at San Francisco State, she currently works at New Door Ventures serving as the High School Education Services Manager. Previously, Maica has worked at City College of San Francisco as an office coordinator through the Office of Student Equity. Throughout her career she has worked with a spectrum of students ranging from Kindergarteners to graduate students, and one day aspires to continue her education by pursuing a PhD in Psychology with a concentration in Education. In her spare time she is often out traveling, trying new cuisines, and searching for the perfect places to hike and scuba dive.
